NOT To Spark A Religious Debate, but….

Last week, a pewter nail/spike on a leather rope is being sold as a necklace. Not to quote but I heard it will sell for $16.99 US dollars, and they just started selling them, but have already run out… Not surprisingly, this has sparked yet another debate. Some are claiming this is sacriligious to Christ, or just another way to cash in on controversy. Either point may be true, but…. I even heard the remark “When Christ comes back, the last thing he’s going to want to see is a nail hanging from your neck…”. Okay, in that logic, will he be any happier to see a Cross there? No, I won’t be sporting any “hardware” from my own neck any time soon. I think it’s common knowledge I do wear a Cross sometimes, which I suppose some might find offensive, but it’s my neck, and my Cross, so…. If someone wants to wear a nail around theirs, I think my only hope would be they’ve fashioned it themselves, and not paid $17 for something they can make for what, a dime at home? Somehow too, I doubt the “target market” for this item even resembles someone like me. I think more likely they’ll show up on much “younger, hipper, (dare I say Club Kids)” necks. However, they have that right, just as I do. The only REAL problem I can see with wearing a nail around your neck is, leave it at home before tryng to board an airplane, you’ll never get it through Security…
